THE NEW WEST COAST

This housing and urban development proposal explored opportunities for sustainable growth along Manhattan’s underutilized waterfront in the Hell’s Kitchen and Chelsea neighborhoods. The vision centered around transforming the waterfront into a thriving, eco-conscious hub, with integrated commercial, residential, and public spaces designed for long-term community resilience. The plan emphasized holistic urban expansion over piecemeal, spot-zoned developments, ensuring a seamless blend of economic vitality and environmental sustainability. By fostering a layered, overlapping program that prioritized well-being, the New West Coast aimed to redefine Midtown’s relationship with its waterfront.
